Jose holds a Juris Doctor in Law from the University of Lisbon and a Master in International Business from the University of Chongqing. He took a one year program in Law from the University of Genova and is currently undergoing a PhD program in International Law from the China University of Political Science and Law.


Jose is a Portuguese M&A foreign legal consultant in KWM focusing on banking, energy, resources and infrastructure cross border investments.

He is fully qualified to practice in Macau, Portugal and Brazil.

Before joining KWM, he was an attorney at law for FC Law | Lawyers and Privates Notaries in Macau and Gabriel Quintanilha Advogados in Brazil.

He represented on a regular basis the one of the largest private investors in Angola and Congo Brazzaville, and served as legal consultant for International Corporation Services Group (ICSL Iberia), a multinational corporate consultancy and service provider in Lisbon, Portugal.

Previously, Jose was also head of business development of MdME Lawyers in Macau with a key role in establishing the international network of the firm and having a key role in its association with the MLGTS Legal Circle, a legal alliance focused in Brazil, Portugal, Angola and Mozambique.

He has also acted on a regular basis for Mandeville & Associates, a Hong Kong immigration law firm; Open Atelier SA, a consultancy firm in Madrid, Spain; and Chongqing Vision Spring Sci-Tech Innovation Institute, a Venture Capital firm in Chongqing, China.

He holds a Master in International Business from Chongqing University under a full scholarship from the PRC Central Government, a Juris Doctor from the University of Lisbon, Portugal, and an Erasmus program from the University of Genova, Italy.

Jose is a Macau resident and speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian and Mandarin Chinese.
